Production Line Worker

Calgary Location

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Production Line Worker would be responsible for all duties required to meet production schedule demand, including but not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing all beer lines and filler, safe and efficient operation of filling machine, accurate record keeping and basic mechanical preventative maintenance of filling equipment.

JOB FUNCTIONS
 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Shutdown Operations
  • Safe and efficient operation of filling machine
  • Accurate record keeping of all procedures and processes in a timely manner
  • Perform basic mechanical preventative maintenance of filling equipment
  • Follow start up and shut down procedures
  • Conduct cleaning of equipment and fillers before production to meet safety standards
  • Clean and tidy work area
  • Operate CIP filler to specifications
  • Compliance with all sanitary procedures
  • Work closely with other team members
  • Assist with various duties in the Packaging Department as required
  • Follow all start up and shut down procedures
  • Recording of procedures
  • Wash Filler with chemicals and perform cleaning of Seamer Machine as per requirements
  • Grease Seamer and Filler as per requirements
  • Perform all shutdown procedures for Can Warmer
  • Follow proper safety precautions regarding safe use and handling of chemicals.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a clean and tidy work environment in the filling machine area
  • Ability to add support to other packaging equipment operators
  • Replace Can Filler when needed

QUALIFICATIONS
 

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing plant

  • Must have proficiency with English Language

Education

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completed course in materials handling preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
 

  • Working Hours: Monday -Thursday (2:00pm-10:30pm) Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
  • WHIMIS Training Required
  • Flexibility to work any shift
  • Overtime as required
  • Repetitive work is required
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Standing for long periods, bending, lifting and twisting
  • Exposed to heat and cold temperatures
  • Possible exposure to dangerous/hazardous materials
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 kg’s
  • Must follow all work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety procedures, Illness and Disease Policy and all other company policies and procedures.
