Don’t eat crow, drink Magpie on 'National Drink Beer Day'

Wed, Sep 28, 2016

No doubt, when you work in craft brewing, every day is a good day to celebrate good beer. But when someone goes out of their way to declare a National Drink Beer Day (September 28th)… well, we must CELEBRATE with YOU!

To mark this very important ‘holiday’, we’re rolling out our new Barn Burner 12 bottle variety pack. And this season the line-up is one of our best ever; Traditional Ale, Magpie, a new recipe Porter, AND our all new Golden Ale.

Where to begin? It’s all so good!

In the coming weeks, each one of these brews will get their time in the spotlight – but to kick things off, we wanted to start with MAGPIE.

Some devoted fans may remember this brew from the mid 90’s. It was first released to the public in 1994, and then again in 2011.  Over the years, Magpie has received the single most requests for re-introduction.

This retro rye beer, named after the clever magpie, has complex malt flavours, a coppery colour, heady aroma, and a spicy finish.

“Magpie is a very unique ale,” said Big Rock’s Brewmaster Paul Gautreau. “It’s full of rich flavour but it’s very light in body and it won’t overpower your palette.”

No kidding Paul! It’s a really great tasting brew… and the perfect one to celebrate with today... and any day.

PS: Don’t eat crow, drink Magpie.
