Big Rock Brewery is excited to have live music back at the brewery grounds! We will be transforming the brewery into the most Canadian outdoor venue with co-headliners The Zolas & Yukon Blonde + special guests, and of course, the freshest beer in Calgary, you won't want to miss out! For the fifth time, the Big Rock Barn Burner is heating up our Calgary brewery. We're excited to be supporting Canadian artists and bringing our community together after a couple of long years. Let's come together to enjoy live music, great food, cold beer, and incredible company! This year we're pleased to have The Zolas along with Yukon Blonde sharing the stage with soon-to-be-announced special guests.

The Zolas
Canadian Indie Rock band from the far-flung shores of British Columbia showcasing an alternative pop. Original members Tom Dobrzanski and Zach Gray have been joined by another longtime duo Cody Hiles and DJ Abell. Their sounds feature flashes of grungy hard-panned guitars, Prince-like synth flourishes, Eurodance vocal samples, watery electric pianos, and arpeggiators, all of which feel shockingly comfortable in their new homes.

Yukon Blonde
After ten years since forming and five LPs, Yukon Blonde have been characterized in a lot of different ways. They emerged as a guitar-heavy rock band with their debut self-titled LP in 2010 and by the release of On Blonde in 2015, Yukon Blonde were experimenting with slick, ’80s-inspired pop elements like those heard on the album driving git single “Saturday Night”. More recently, on 2018’s Critical Hit, the Vancouver-based five piece band turned their attention to mood making, largely ditiching their guitars in favour of synths and drum machines to build danceable, multi-dimensional soundscapes.
