Inventory Analyst

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Description

In this role, you will work very closely with our Cost and Inventory Accountant, teaming up with various teams to ensure the seamless management of inventory. You’ll help maintain accuracy and compliance across systems by overseeing product traceability, including batch and expiry dates, and ensuring the timely removal of expired SKUs. You’ll also collaborate with Finance and Operations to keep product records, such as SKUs and Bills of Materials (BOMs), up to date with essential details like pricing and regulatory information. Through regular inventory reviews and addressing discrepancies, you will play a key role in optimizing the flow of operations and ensuring a smooth, efficient inventory process throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure accuracy of batch and expiry dates across all inventory systems to maintain product traceability and compliance.
  • Manage the transfer of expired SKUs and coordinate timely removal or disposition as required.
  • Create and maintain SKUs and Bills of Materials (BOMs), including accurate pricing, CSPC numbers, and other required product data.
  • Track and process obsolete inventory and write-offs in coordination with Finance and Operations.
  • Conduct inventory movement audits and collaborate with Operations to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Follow up on open production orders and provide administrative support for contract billing processes.
  • Perform miscellaneous inventory adjustments and update SKU attributes in SAP and other systems as needed.
  • Generate and maintain the stale date report to monitor aging inventory and support proactive inventory management.
  • Reconcile inventory balances monthly for goods-in-transit (GIT) warehouse locations.
  • Deactivate discontinued or obsolete warehouses and SKUs to maintain clean and current system records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in Manufacturing, Distribution/Warehouse Operations, or an Inventory Control/Receiving role.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems is an asset; familiarity with SAP is strongly preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong ability to perform under pressure, with the flexibility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accuracy, dependability, and accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; able to communicate clearly and professionally across departments.
  • Proven organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate challenges and manage expectations proactively.
