Demand Planner

Location: Calgary, AB

Description

We are searching for a high energy, enthusiastic professional to join our team in the role of Demand Planner. This position will appeal to an independent, analytical problem solver. The Demand Planner will align demand with production planning throughout the fulfillment cycle by developing the aggregate demand plan and support assumptions of assigned product lines for the sales and operations planning process This position is a key driver in understanding and managing the demand inputs which the organization uses to align commercial and operational forecasts. The demand planner will use data insights to collaborate with all applicable department and groups to improve forecast accuracy. This person is a hands-on worker who will drive the process of developing demand forecasts and work with other functional teams in the overall S&OP process. The Demand Planner will collaborate on inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs, and acts with passion and urgency, is a compelling communicator, proven relationship and team-builder, insight-led and data driven and fosters a customer focused environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of our demand planning infrastructure and processes to drive the accuracy of Product/Brand and SKU based forecasts.
  • Develop and execute both component and finished product demand plans based on demand patterns and business trends to achieve satisfactory inventory to meet customer demands.
  • Work with the sales team, and supply chain team to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Forecasting demand for all product platforms across multiple locations that enable smart, accurate decision making in the Supply Chain.
  • Maintains and develops weekly and monthly reports to aid in forecasting and strategic decisions.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses for special initiatives, new product launches, key projects, and team requests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years: of supply chain or demand planning experience required with strong demand cycle and system experience.
  • Post secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management (combination of relevant experience and post secondary training will be considered).
  • SCMP designation (or equivalent) or in-progress an asset .
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Highly developed skills in oral and written communications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PPT, Outlook etc.).
  • Lean / Six Sigma practice awareness.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence management, teams and individuals.
  • Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) best practices.
  • Working knowledge of SAP BI an asset.
